Wedding Rescue Tests Pinterest Projects DIY Wedding Hangers

Wedding Rescue Tests Pinterest Projects DIY Wedding Hangers

If you’re an Instagramer or an avid Pinterest Pinner then you’ll have most likely seen some adorable and stylish wedding hangers! They are way too cute and in my opinion are a must have for your wedding! You could make it simple by handwriting your wedding party's names, role and date of the wedding just on the hanger itself. Or you can take it up a notch by making hangers that are totally custom looking and might even match your theme or color choices. You will shock your whole wedding party when they realize that YOU created these picture perfect hangers.

These cute accessories looked pretty simple to tackle so Wedding Rescue took it on as one of our DIY Pass or Fail challenges.  Let’s see if these hangers are just as easy to create as they appear.

Well, I would say my hanger was a success and super cute! It was also pretty easy to make. If I had planned it out ahead of time, it would have likely turned out even better! I would encourage you all to get creative with these! You can do so many adorable things with these hangers and don’t forget, you can also make some for your groom and groomsmen!

What You Need

  • Hangers

  • Glue Gun & Glue

  • Decorative Ribbon

  • Wire

  • Wire Cutters

  • Scissors

  • Bows / Flowers or whatever you want to decorate with!

Watch the video or follow the steps below to try it yourself!

Step 1

  • If using wire, measure and cut a piece to start forming. Make sure to leave space at each end to mold onto the hanger.

Step 2

  • Bend and form the word such a “Bride” and make sure it fits in the space. If it does attach tightly to hanger.

Step 3

  • Glue one end of the ribbon to the hanger and proceed to wrap the fabric around the hanger tightly to achieve your desired look. Once wrapped glue the other end to secure. You will want to have high quality fabric or ribbon...if you watch the video you will know why.

Step 4

  • For the trickier parts of the hanger (dowel) you will likely need to cut the fabric to fit the areas perfectly and then as we did use the hot glue gun to secure it.

Step 5

  • Last but not least glue down any additional decor like ribbons or flowers to your hanger!
